MACRA Director General, Daud Suleman, has revealed that out of the 14 million mobile phone subscribers in the country, 13 million are not using smartphones.
Suleman made the remarks during the conference held at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, which was attended by President Lazarus Chakwera and his vice, Michael Usi.
Suleman emphasized the need for increased internet access and digital literacy, citing the importance of online education and access to information.
He also noted that some Malawians are misusing social media, spreading false information and portraying Malawi as a country at war, when in fact it is a peaceful nation.
