Members of the Nyika Media Club kicked off Mother's day celebrations today by visiting and uplifting Mothers at Mapale Rural Hospital.
One of the mothers who received the gift prepared by the club, Ruth Longwe from Nkhatabay said that she is very excited about the visitation.
She said: " I'm very excited about the gift in which they have been given to us and we appreciate about the gift. We don't take if for granted"
Towers Kasanga Gondwe, Nursing officer, Department of Labor at the hospital, said as the hospital we have welcomed the help in which have been bought by the journalist and other organisation.
She said: "The help which has been provided, we're very grateful as Mzuzu Health Centre because it will help them in different areas"
"There are some mother who lack basic needs like sugar and this help, will enreach them in many areas" she added
Feston Malekezo, Chairperson of the Nyika Media Club said as journalist, we made this decision inorder to support our mothers.
He said: As Journalist, we thought it wise to join women who are in the hospital to appreciate them for what they have been doing to us and as a club, we thought it to celebrate with them"
"As a club, we will stop here. We have plans that will be doing this once in a while" he added.
Masita Jele, Development Community Manager from the "Partners from the North" explains what made them to collaborate with nyika media on the event
He said: ",We partnered and mobilise resource together because we're one and because of that, we're here to celebrate with our mothers at Mapale Hospital to cheer with them".
Apart from Partners for the North, Nyika Properties and Awalanje Investment Construction and Civil Engineering Company supported the initiative in different ways.
