Final year students at University of Livingstonia, Kaning'ina Campus, have started having fundraising activities in order to have a successful dinner next year.
Speaking with the chair of the committee, Clara wadi, explained why the committee started doing fundraising early.
She said: " As we count down to the 2025 finale dinner, we have started our fundraising efforts to ensure a memorable and successful event. Our primary objective is to generate sufficient funds to cover expenses and meet everyones expectations."

The chair explained the strategies which they put in place inorder to have a successful dinner in the Kaning'ina history.
She said: " We have planned a multi faceted strategy. Firstly, we have initiated early dinner fundraising through various activities designed to source additional funds".
Secondly, we will be crafting proposals to secure sponsorship, which will help offset other expenses and we will have a fixed number of attendees, requiring each finale to register their attendance. This will enable us to set prices according to our budget and maintain financial sustainability".
At the end of the interview, she called up those who wanted to support the dinner, for example, sponsors could come and make the event unforgettable.
One of the fourth year student studying Bachelor's in Accountancy, John Longwe, agreed with the idea of starting doing fundraising earlier.
He said" "I really believe it is very important to start doing fundraising now. Firstly, as we know that the finale dinner event is very costly to organize, starting fundraising early can help the committee in sourcing out things needed before the time and hence help the planning of the events early"
He added that early fundraising can also help to raise awareness to the well wishers who sometime need a lot of time for them to able to help out in supporting the finale dinner.
The finale dinner is set to take place next year on April.
